What do you do?

What do you do when people think that your baby girl looks like a boy?
You get her ears pierced of course...
She was so brave and didn't know what the heck was going on
Do the dots look straight?
Who looks more scared?
What did you just do to me mom?

She wasn't too excited about the second ear

All better

I think she likes them...what do you think?

My sister came into town and two of her daughters got their ears pierced so we thought that we would join in the fun too. I think that baby girls are so cute with earrings. Despite what some people may say, all girls want their ears pierced so why not do it while they are young and don't remember the pain.

Laughing

So Jules rarely laughs. She is the happiest baby and always smiles, but laughing is a different story. We have to get her in the right mood and tickle her in just the right spots. Well last night, we were over at Brett's parents and his mom was able to get her to laugh so hard without even touching her. Enjoy the video. Oh, she likes to grunt a lot too.

Jules is also standing for about a minute at a time, all on her own. She probably could walk, but is too afraid.
It has been really busy around here with my work and Brett's finals and graduation coming up. Someone here stole a master key to get into anything and everything you can imagine here at the apartment complex we live and work at. We had to re-key every apartment and get a new key to all 400+ tenants. It wasn't too fun, but we did get it all done. On top of all that we have so many people applying to live here and so many people checking out that it's not going to be easy. I still hope it's all worth it. Brett is looking for a job and has had two successful interviews so far. We'll just have to see where life takes us in the next couple of weeks.

Hogal Zoo

Brett's grandpa passed away last week. After his graveside services on Monday we decided to go to the Zoo. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed perfect weather. Here are some of the pictures we took.

Meerkats?

You'd think any child would be freaked out about oversized gorillas or ginormous rhinos. Nope, the only thing that got Jules was the meerkat. I guess it's because she's about the same size.

Hoppy Easter!

We had a great Easter spent in the company of great family. Here is a picture of Brett throwing Jules up in the air (it seemed to be the theme of the night's party). Isn't that a great picture? It was such a beautiful day and so good to get outside and enjoy some fresh air.
Here are some pictures of Jules in her new Easter Dress.

She is getting so big. Last week I went in to get her in the morning and she was standing up in her crib. I was so proud and excited for her and she was pretty proud herself. We didn't realize what was ahead though. She had learned to stand up but not how to get down. We would put her in bed and she would stand right back up and eventually her legs would get really tired and she would start to cry really hard and didn't know what to do from there. One time we let her cry for about 10 minutes hoping she would just fall. Finally Brett went in to get her and she was shaking and sweating; but of course, still standing. Since then she has learned to get down and has been doing really well with that. Now she is walking all around the furniture and just loves being so mobile.

MTC Reunion

We realized that it has been 3 years since we've been home from our missions so we decided it was time to get together. Us 4 sisters flew out to Brazil together and all went to the same missions so we've been through a lot together. It's been fun to see us all get married and to watch the families grow. Janae, on the right is due in 10 days (from the time the picture was taken on Monday) and we only hope the other 2 will follow behind us soon.
We have many pictures of me and my belly doing the same thing so we had to do it will Janae as well. I almost miss being pregnant seeing her...haha, NOT!
We had a lot of fun at dinner and laughed the whole time. I might add the Brad McOmber also joined us for dinner but had to leave afterwards because he had a date. We mocked him the whole time for being single but I guess he is trying.

5 Kids

So last week for 6 days we watched my sister-in-law's sisters 4 kids while they went and enjoyed the beautiful weather in L.A. They were actually pretty good kids and I grew to think that I could maybe handle having 5 kids (although we only plan on having 4). What I realized though is that I don't think I can handle having twins. Jules is now 9 1/2 months and their youngest, Kate, is 13 months old. Those two were the worst to watch because when one started crying it would set the other one off. They both fought for my attention so I would have to sit on the floor while they both mauled me to make them happy. The nice thing is that they were on the same schedule so they would go to bed at the same time and take naps at the same time giving me a little break. The thing that scares me the most is that we have a really high chance of having twins. Twins run pretty heavily in both of our families. My mom is a twin and her mom is a twin. Brett has twin uncles so if they skip a generation like they say they do, we are doomed. Anyway, here are some of the fun pictures we took while we were there:
Here Jules is kissing herself in the mirror. It's really cute. Last night I actually showed her a picture of Christ and she kissed him too. It's amazing what littlest of kids will do.

Here Jules and Kate prepare to take a bath. I love Jules little bum.
Jules finally gets to experience a real bath. She loved it and splashed the whole time.
Here the babies are "playing" with each other. Here you can kind of catch Jules in the act of doing her army crawl.
This was Sunday after church and after dropping the kids off. Jules was exhausted and so happy to have mommy and daddy all to herself.
She used to be so cuddly but lately has just been too active to want to so it was sweet to see her doing it again. She's actually been doing it a lot since we finished watching the kids. They are her little hugs.

Any Questions?

If you give a baby food...
You have to deal with this...
Which sometimes has to lead to this...
Any Questions?
(Disclaimer: I washed her and the sink off pretty darn good before I gave her the bath or else I never would have let her suck on the rag.)

Thoughts for Today

-The weather has been so wonderful and I can't wait for summer so I can take Jules into the swimming pool we have here at the apt. comlex.
-Today I was driving and saw a man on a big motorcycle pulling a trailer that had 2 huge stuffed apes on the trailer as though they were passangers. Who does that?
-Jules officially has 1 tooth on the bottom
-Jules does the army crawl and loves to explore.
-Jules waves hello and good-bye...for those of you that don't know, they are the same thing.
-Jules loves to give high-5's
-We don't have a bathtub in our apt so for the first time today I gave her a bath in the kitchen sink. She didn't LOVE it like I had hoped but she did like it.
-We got rid of our night person position so I get to do all the extra stuff that she used to do like filing and posting notices on doors.
-I am going to be watching 4 extra kids most of next week while their parents enjoy the week in L.A.
-Brett graduates in April and is freaking out because he doesn't have a job yet.
-Brett is getting his scooter summerized so he can take it out with this sunshine we've been getting.
-One of the apartments here has bed bugs.
-I finally got the book "The Book of Mormon Made Easier". I understand the BofM but this gives you new insight that I never really thought about before.
-I really want a new comforter and hope to buy one with the extra $ I'll be making babysitting next week.
-We bought a wii last week and really love playing it.
-Brett and I will be married for 2 years on March 18-that's just crazy to me.
-I have been home from my mission now for 3 years.
-I hate making dinner on Friday nights. Don't ask me why, it's just my day to take a break from making dinner.

10 years ago I was...15 years old and halfway through my sophomore year in high school. We had moved into our new house in Lindon the summer before and I had made a whole bunch of new friends and was pretty much enjoying life as much as you can in High School.

5 things on my to-do list today...(1) Take a shower (2) Get our taxes done (3) Run some errands for work (4) Get a hair cut (5) Exercise

Things I would do if I became a billionaire...Give a lot to the church. Go on a great vacation and buy houses at those places so we could go there often. Buy us a nice house here. Help family out with their finances. Invest in a student apartment complex... I see how much $ they make here and I want to be in on it.

3 of my bad habits...(1) snacking while I made dinner (2) judging people before I get to know them (3) forgetting people's names when I first meet them

5 places I have lived...(1) Lindon, UT (2) Rexburg, ID (3) Fairfield, CT (4) Brazil (5) Orem, UT

5 jobs I've had...(1) Assistant manager to a student apt. complex (2) Bakery manager to the best catering company in UT (3) Bindery worker at BYU (4) Taco Time(5) Taco Bell- don't laugh, I loved those taco jobs.

Things people don't know about me...I want to move away from Utah or at least Utah County, not quite sure why but I just do.
