She found her thumb

Is it too late for her to discover her thumb and start sucking on it like an addict? The other day she was sucking it just like a thumb sucker. She actually had her pinky sticking up too. I thought it was the cutest thing ever but am grateful she isn't a thumb sucker. She hasn't really done it since but I just had to take a picture of it to share while it lasted.

Christmas is almost here!!!

My mom got this cute little sleigh and Jules just fit right in it so I had to take a cute little picture of her in it. She wasn't a huge fan. This is one of the few that I got where she wasn't crying. Me and Jules in front of our Christmas tree. It's not the best picture since I was taking it by myself, but hey a mom has to have a few pictures with her little princess. So our new biggest thing is that Jules is eating solid foods now. She loves them. As you can see with the lack of pictures I have of her smiling, she is smiling in her new high chair because she knows she's going to get some new food. She seriously already feels so much heavier to me. She will down a stage 2 jar of baby food without a problem. She'll actually cry for more but I know it will just make her sick. I thought I wouldn't like this stage because it takes so much more time to feed her but I love it because she loves it.
Here she is eating a popcicle/monkey bar. She was so excited. Watch her inhale it.
Haha, do you really think I would let her eat the whole thing. The pictures are actually in reverse. My sister gave her the last of one she was eating and she wanted more so we had to open a new one and we only let her have a little bit of the big one. She loved it though and wanted more. Luckily she wasn't sick that night.

Brett thought it would be fun one day to have his hair combed up. He figured we weren't going anywhere that day so here he is looking like he belongs in the 80's, watching TV with Jules.
The sad part is that it was cold yesterday so I put a hat on Jules and by the time I took it off, her hair was doing the same thing. She really does look like Brett. I couldn't really get a good picture of it so here you get the old lady/bitter beer face with the crazy hair.
So that's our lives in a nutshell. We were planning on leaving for Disneyland tomorrow but our information packet that Disneyland is supposed to send us still hasn't come. We thought about going anyway and just paying for it since that was the plan anyway but decided that we should save the money since we can go some other time for free. Now the problem is I have to worry about Christmas presents. Disneyland was our Christmas but since we aren't going my plans have had to change. Brett just finished his last final tonight so now he's bumbed that we don't have anything planned over the break. He only has one more semester until he's done and we are so excited.

We were pretty excited tonight because our friend from our new branch was on Deal or No Deal. She is crazy. She ended up with $50,000 and got a $12,000 package to go see Wicked on broadway, got to be on stage, meet all the cast, got a limo ride there, and some other stuff like glinda's wand(only one in the world) and stuff. It was fun to watch her on TV. Yay for Mary.

Dinner and Cell Phones

By the title you might think that I have a comment on not answering your phones during dinner. I used to get really frustrated about cell phones and people using them too much and what not and I have to admit that I am one of those. I'm on my phone a lot and love the convenience of cell phones which brings me to the topic I would really like to address. We recently changed cell phone providers and have been more than disappointed with them. We had T-mobile which we never really had problems with except we couldn't get coverage in our apartment. So we went to Cingular and they promised we would be happy with them and we were given 30 days to cancel with no charges. Well let me just tell you that is a big fat lie! We want to cancel and now it's going to cost us over $200 to do so. It is this big fat mess and I just want to advertise to anyone who is out there looking for a new cell phone to not go with Cingular/AT&T. I was also wondering which provider you all use and love. Please respond and let us know what you have tried also or if you have had issues with other companies for us to avoid problems in the future.

Also, I know I'm a chef, I'm not the best chef but I did go to school for it, and worked in the food industry for at least 5 years. Having said this I still have problems coming up with ideas for dinner. So here I am asking you guys what some of your favorite dishes are to eat/make. I always hear older women complaining that it's hard to cook for just 2 people after raising a family of 5 or whatever the numbers are. Try cooking for hundreds at a time and down sizing to 2. So please reply and help us out, we are getting desperate. Thanks so much.

Disneyland here we come!!!

All last week I was waking up at 7:15 to listen to FM100 because that's when they announce the time of day that they will be giving 4-3day park hopper passes to Disneyland. Every day we would try to win and we never got through. Well today I totally forgot to wake up and listen but luckily Brett joined the loyal listener club and they e-mailed him the time. So at 10:00 this morning we started listening and called in when they said to call in and Brett is so amazing and got through and was caller #10. That's what caller you have to be to win. We are soooo excited. There were days that we were planning on not going because of expense and days that we were going to go so it has just been an on and off thing but now we are going. There is an ultimate get away but we didn't win that which includes the flight but we did win the tickets and 2 nights at a hotel. So Disneyland here we come. I tried to keep telling people that we were going to win and we did. My mom says that we have so much luck and I just told her that it's because we actually try. Most people think that they will never win so they don't try. Even if we didn't win at least we tried. I just have to give a shout out to Ashley for trying to call in for me that one day for the ultimate dream get-away. YAY!!!

Thanksgiving

So it's been a long while since we've updated our blog. The last time Brett got sick of me procrastinating and finally just did it himself. Work really has kept me busier than I thought it would. I do enjoy my job and love having it so close and being able to contribute to our minimal income. We were able to take off for a few days and enjoy our Thanksgiving with family in Arizona. It was a beautiful Thanksgiving and like no other Thanksgiving I've ever had but more of a Thanksgiving I've always dreamed of. Growing up in my family my mom would slave all day and stress all day and then we would have way too many leftovers. We would have all the family come over and it was just stressful and messy and crowded and messy. Oops, did I say that already?

Anyway, we would always do buffet style and leave the food just in the pans and it was just ugly and...messy. Well Thanksgiving is bound to leave lots of dishes and lots of cleanup but this time it just seemed to be stress free. We started cooking the day before and didn't stress. The day of, we finished things up and still cooked a lot but we also decorated the table and put things on nice platters and had yummy appetizers (that unfortunately ruined my appetite but oh well) and it was just pretty. We still did buffet style but I think that is inevitable with so many people and so much food. So I just have to thank Lindy for such a wonderful Thanksgiving. For those of you who don't know, we were in Arizona to visit Brett's brother, Matt and his family. Here are a few pictures of what I was talking about.

Kyle was ready to feastWe really had a great Thanksgiving. Here are few other pictures of our weekend...
Of course I had to take some pictures of Lindy's adorable wall of pictures and what not. I was telling my friend Ashley about it and she wanted to see what it looked like so here you go. Cute huh!

Brett just had to walk in front of the camera right as I was taking the picture.

Jules was so good on the trip. Here she is just playing with her binkie clip. I do have to admit that I will probably never travel over Thanksgiving weekend again. The traffic was horrible with all the other travelers.
This is Brett's nephew Spencer. I finally succeeded in getting a picture of Jules smiling. Isn't Spencer such a good big brother. He's going to get a new sibling in April-Yay! He was so proud of himself for holding Jules and her not crying.

Jules' first time in a high chair, she did really good. It also helped us get the dinner ready.
So Jules does this new thing now that when she's drinking her bottle she holds her left ear. I thought that maybe she had an ear infection but the doctor said she was clear. Looks like she has a new form of comfort. It makes it difficult too because she was just getting used to holding her own bottle. Brett and Jules at the Hoover Dam. Yet another picture of her smiling-she looks so mature in this picture that it scares me.
So after Arizona we had to swing up to Las Vegas to watch my brother get married for the second time. I'm really still not sure as to why they chose Vegas. They claim it was cheaper but that was a very selfish thing because it wasn't cheaper for anyone else. But hey, it was their wedding, I guess. It was a very cheesy wedding at the "Chapel of the Flowers". So let me just vent a little. Their limo was an hour late, we couldn't take any pictures afterwards on their grounds, the minister asked that we take my brother's (the grooms) daughter out because she was crying, we had to pay $20 each for the dinner after the wedding and it was the worst worst worst buffet I have ever eaten in my entire life and they tried to kick us out after being there for a half hour. Let's just say that the restaurant heard it from me. So in case any of you are wondering about weddings in Vegas...don't wonder any more and just don't do it. Also, don't eat at the Stratosphere unless you want to waste your time, patience and money. In the long run, I do have to admit that Vegas didn't cost us anything because my parents do have a time share there so we were able to spend the night for free. The only thing we had to pay for was the disgusting buffet. We are happy for my brother, his new wife and their new family of 4.
So that was our Thanksgiving. I do want to say that I am very grateful for everything the Lord has blessed me with and continues to bless us with. I am grateful for the gospel and modern day prophets, the scriptures. I am especially grateful for our families and my cute little family and wonderful husband.

I guess it's time to update the blog.

So where in the heck did November go? I guess we're only just a little over half way done, but still! Stacey's slow on the blog, so here's an update.

Jules has been sick the last few weeks. It's the first time she's ever been sick. She has a cute, but nasty cough. It only comes out a few times every day. She's just turned very sullen and is really out of it. We're lucky she's not that whiney. We're still trying to get her to sleep through the night, like she did the first 2 months of her life. A few weeks ago, Stacey decided that she was just going to let her cry, rather than get up every hour or so. This was great news for me as I have been saying that she's already spoiled. She's doing pretty good so far. We've had a few days where she'll cry for a few hours even, but for the most part, she's learning.

Stacey's doing great with her new job. It definitely keeps her busy though. Ya know what though? It's worth the free rent! We love it here. Once you get past the weekend party people running through the halls at midnight (this is a singles apartment complex) it's not bad at all.

As for me, I'm keeping busy. I spent the last couple of weeks trying to get rid of sinus problems. I'd wake up with a headache and it would last all day. I finally got rid of it a couple days ago. We figured it was from all the dust from moving. The semester is coming to a close, which is exciting. Yep, that's about it. We're settling in and loving it here. Come visit any time. If you haven't seen the place yet, come check it out. If you already have, we always enjoy company.

Halloween

We got this cute costume from my cousin. She actually loved being dressed up. We couldn't stop laughing at how cute she was as a little flower. I still can never get a picture of her smiling so I hope you enjoy these...
For Halloween we didn't really do much since we were moving the following day. We did go to our neighbors for some soup and as much candy as we wanted. After that we went to Brett's sister Marci's house so Brett could interview Aaron for one of his classes. So Jules got to hang out with her cousins. This is little Mitchy as a cute little pumpkin.
Being timid already...?
Sadly this is the closest picture I could get to her smiling and of course she has spit up all over. She really has been doing better on the goats milk. She now weighs over 12 pounds so we really are making our way up there.
Well we are all moved in and all unpacked. Kyle came over and said that it actually looks like a really home-yay. I love all the windows that bring in the wonderful sunlight. We love it and you are all welcome to come visit any time. I'll post pictures soon.

Enjoying the Fall

We took some pretty cute pictures this week that we wanted to share. This family picture was just a "hurry and sit in the leaves and smile" picture. My brother blessed his baby on Saturday at my parents and we took advantage of my wonderful sister-in-laws photography skills.

Here Brett is showing off his skills of holding Jules' feet while she stands up. It almost looks like she is floating. He amazed everyone. She had the cutest dress on, it almost looked like she was a ballerina.
This picture is at my favorite park down by the Orem Wal-Mart. It's called Nielson Park and it's just beautiful. If you haven't been there you have to go see it. We had to get some pictures of us with all the beautiful colors since they are almost all gone.

Brett freaking out that she was too cold so he had her in his coat for the picture.
Jules showing off her flexibility skills.

Bitter-Beer Face

Or should I say Pop-eye. Lately Jules has had this new thing. Well, new things I guess I should say. One, she likes to eat her toes now. It's the funniest thing. I know it's a normal thing but everything is just cuter when it's your own kid. She's also biting her lips and making the "bitter-beer face". I was able to capture a little of both things and she was able to surprise me and make the pop-eye face for this picture. Have I mentioned that Jules is not very photogenic.
Here's a better picture of her just eating her toes.

Now for an apology for all you that read the last blog and believed it to the point that you were too impatient to read the whole blog and you called me either mad or excited. I really did think that I was pregnant for a week so when I found out that I wasn't I decided it would be fun to make you all think I was for a little bit too. Trust me, I was freaking out more than you were. I must admit that I would have called right away also.
We still haven't moved yet, next week is the big week. We've already started packing and have a lot done but still have a lot ahead of us. We are in the process of buying a new car so that's exciting. Brett had an acappella group but it wasn't going where they wanted it to so they are in the process of starting over yet again.
Fall is here and I'm trying to love it. The cold just came a little too fast for me. I think that mostly I'm just not excited to have to worry about a kid in the cold.
Jodi I have to tell you that I went to a spinning class today. This guy in my ward has been trying to get me to go for the past 3 months and I finally made it. I did love it and am excited for the next chance I can get there.

Post a Comment

I sort of figured out a way to post a comment if you want to. You have to click on the post itself on the right side then scroll down and on the bottom is will ask if you want to post a comment. There you have it. Post away.

13 Months Apart

Now you are asking yourself "Who are 13 months apart". Well let me tell you in a very different and inapropriate way that I'M PREGNANT and the babies will be 13 months apart. I guess this is a way to see who really reads the blog. This will go to show that my family will not know for a while. I was going to wait to tell you all but I can't keep a secret. I know it's crazy and no this one wasn't planned either but what do you do? It will be crazy but it will all work out. I have two brothers that are 13 months apart and everything in the long run works out. I kept wondering why I was so hungry all the time and so tired and now I know why. We just found out this week. I can't stop from laughing because it's just funny. Probably because it stops me from crying. Brett is freaking out a bit seeing as he doesn't have a real steady job. Good thing we are moving into a 4 bedroom place in a couple of weeks. Brett's parents couldn't understand why we wanted a van and now when they read this they will know why.

Now for something on a lighter note. Here is an updated pictures of Jules in her exersaucer. She's grown into it now and loves it. She will be 5 months tomorrow and still weighs 11lbs or so. She has a particular love for this bee that she is eating.
Since we got all hand-me-down clothes I decided to do a little shopping of my own. We got all of Brett's sisters clothes and at first they all worked since they were both born in the same season...that would continue to work except the fact that Jules isn't growing. So all of the clothes that fit her now are 0-3 months and they are all summer clothes. So yesterday I went and bought some winter clothes that will fit her. She has never worn a pair of jeans so I bought some and I can't get over how cute she lookes in them. You can kind of see them in the picture. I had a lot of fun shopping. It's so fun shopping for girl clothes. Hmmm, wonder what number 2 will be.

Something else that I have been very busy doing is making jewelry. Callie got me started and I've just been going at it. Here are the things I've made so far. The pictures aren't the best but it gives you an idea.
So anyway, that's kind of what's been up with us. We did start giving Jules goat milk to see if that will work. She seems to be a little happier but still spits up a little so we still have that to deal with. This spit up is a little different though. It kind of curdles so I can just pick up chucks, it's great. So I did stop nursing her and doing that kind of messed my body up so I actually thought I was pregnant for about 5 days seeing as I was late but alas I am not! Yay! I've never been so excited to see my period.
We are moving the first weekend in November so anyone that can help would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure we'll be calling you anyway.

This is Brett's little nephew Jude. He likes to "attack" her when she's in the bouncy seat. He just loves that he can get around on his own now. He was actually very sweet.
Here my mom put Jules to sleep. She loves to rock on rocking chairs. Last week I finally sat her down and read to her and rocked her. I was actually really surprised at how much she loves it. I guess it's a really good age because she's not trying to move so much. She just sits there and looks at the pictures and tries to touch the pages. It's so much fun. Grandma just loves Jules! Aren't they cute?

What's she going to be?

Jules has so many hats so today we tried a few on. She wasn't sure about some of them so we had to stop. Here are some of the ones that we were able to get pictures of. Here on the right we have her as a fisher girl to follow in daddies footsteps (although he hasn't been in 2 years). Then we have Jules as a chef. I'm teaching her to follow in mommies footsteps. Then we have her as a detective. Finally on the bottom we have her as a flapper girl from the 20's. Now we just wait a couple of decades to see what will really become of our little Jules.

So Tired

After all the pictures I took she seems to have gotten a little tired. Here she is right now sleeping on the 70's recliner we have. She got sick of waiting while I blogged. I guess I will just let her sleep there for now. Have I mentioned that she loves to cuddle with a blanket or whatever while she sleeps. She is my little cuddly princess. The best part is that I started her sitting up and she fell over and fell asleep.

My Little Princess

My mom got this cute "princess" outfit for Jules before she was born. It is a 3-6 month outfit and since Jules is 4 1/2 months old you would think it would fit by now. Well since Jules is only in the 5th percentile it's still a little big on her but I couldn't resist. She is a little princess and while I always hated that term (maybe it's just the grown up girls that use it that bugs me) I can't resist but calling her a princess. I will not let her get used to the term though. There is a snotty little girl in the nursery that really thinks her name is Isabella Princess. Gag me would ya. Anyway, here a bunch of pictures I took of her this morning.

She really has the cutest smile ever but I just couldn't capture it on camera.
This is what happened right before I started to take pictures. Are we really surprised though?
This is my favorite part about this outfit-Princess written right on her bum.
"Mom, I can't see"
Momma's little girl. She puts up with all the wierd things I do to her.
Since she was about 2 months old or probably even younger she would copy me when I stuck my tongue out. I thought I was teaching her but now that's all she does. She has some tongue action going on all the time it's actually pretty darn cute.
I love being a mom and love my little Jules so much; spit up and all.
